About Wayfaster
Wayfaster builds voice agents for the enterprise to help hire 10x faster and cheaper. We're a small team that's built a powerful voice agent from scratch, and we're now looking for other smart people to join us. Our goal is to remove most the inefficieinces in the $770B labor staffing market which is powered by old, non-interoperable software and we're just getting started
We're backed by an amazing set of investors including Slow Ventures, South Park Commons, the Atlantic Group (one of our early customers) and angels such as Scott Stephenson (Deepgram CEO), Sri Batchu (TheRealReal CMO), Ben Tossell (Ben's Bites) and many others.
The Role
We're hiring for two engineering roles:
- One we'd prefer someone with at least 3 years of experience and extremely strong architecture fundamentals and the other we're more open to candidates of all backgrounds
- We're hiring for generalists -- we don't care which languages you code in, we want you to just solve problems and ship product extremely fast
- Preferably based in NYC
- Please have that dawg in you -- this is not a 9-5 job and we won't hold your hand
Our hiring process takes 7-10 days max. Two screens, one two hour assessment and a one day paid on-site
About Varun/Shrey
About Shrey (CTO/Co-Founder)
Shrey is a 10x engineer and all around great guy (this was written by Varun). He was the second engineer at Deepgram (the first industrial grade speech to text model) and was also an early engineer at Checkr and not so early engineer at Coinbase. He decided to HODL during the 2021 crypto boom and therefore is still trying "to get rich or die trying" - Gandhi
Outside of work, he likes to debate with his friends about technical architecture, write more code, run half marathons, and hang out with his girlfriend and his dog Amie. He is pretty much the oldest 30 year old you'll ever meet -- how can you not trust a guy like that?
Weaknesses: Fear of butterflies, recent experimentation with Zyns, writing emails
About Varun (Ideas Guy/Co-Founder)
Varun is probably at best a 1.5x engineer but a 10x email writer. He spent the earliest years of his career working at hypergrowth startups such as Instacart and Transferwise. Instacart did not let him sell his stock but he also said his goal in the 3rd grade was "to end up on the Forbes list"
Outside of work, he likes to have a beer with friends, read books on sales and write more emails, and watch his beloved Jets lose every week. He will make you laugh at least a couple of times a day.
Weaknesses: Planning trips, caffeine tolerance, Slack allergy, recently started saying "candidly" in every other sentence
About Ami
Weaknesses: Inconsistent awake hours, engineering ability, easily distracted
